    Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley

    Dark, brooding. Asian spice, licorice, burnt & a bit extracted. Tannins a real firm, with a good finish. Not as approachable as earlier work from him. The palates are a bit disjointed as the blend has not come together. This one seems to need more time, seems in balance, but it needs a year before a real rating can be done.

    Eh. Light color, creamy oak, butter, Zin fruit nose. Very dry tannins as a result. Light & quick. Much better Zins around for the price. Weak effort.

    Full bodied. Great deep finish, mouth coater. Well crafted, good balance of youth, boxed fruit & oak. Front palate to the finish a nice white. WOTF.

  • 2005 Carmen Reserve Carmenère-Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo Valley 88 Points

    Dark. Nose of seseme? Lemon zest? This blend is wild. Sweet, nice, very drying tannins, but seemingly will resolved as they are grippy, but fine. Deep finish. Some strange end of glass watery sensation, otherwise would have got a higher rating. Potential.

    Argentina, Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo

    Dark garnet. Oak & vanilla plus classic Cab fruit. Nice front palate but no mid, OK finish. Very young, needs time. OK wine.

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    Light red, clear. Smells of wet soft cheese, very old world. Awesome wine, front to finish, the palates are all well developed with a grreat handoff from one to the next, real craftsmanship. A real sensation of ripe fruits that are tempered with leather pencil and earth. A well made wine. WOTN for me and Gary.

    Notes say damn good. The nose to the sailing finish that goes on, a realy well made wine. This Chateau has good bang for the buck.

Closing

Sinolink always puts on display a nice assortment of wines & a well managed event. The staff knows their stuff and are fun to be around. Harbor view of HK is a spectacular location, first class room.
