  Floral bouquet with slight bronze tinge. A thin wine not too my liking.

  Chalky (clean dust on the nose) but a little thin and on the acidic side.

• 2003 Vergelegen Cabernet-Merlot Mill Race 86 Points

  Lots of chalky dust - solid terroir here with a fruity floral berry (must be from the cabernet). A touch of dark chocolate on the palate with good tannin but a shortish finish. Nice wine

  SLight earthy terroir bouquet which was very pleasant. Chocolaty, full bodied and smooth - nicely drinkable. Something I would buy to put away.

Overall the Merlots took the night. The Pride was a great wine. The Tempranillo's definitely had dirty cellar bouquets and were not appealing by comparison and the Sangiovese lacked body.
