Sripraphai and Riesling

I was happy to try Sripraphai. The food was tasty. We chose medium spice but across the luncheon, perhaps something milder would have been better. That heat builds up. Combine that with the whole green chili I ate and you'll see that these notes really aren't worth much! I "burnt" my taster! $35 with corkage and nice tip. Great fun to see Gil, Dan and Diane.

  A bit of acid on the mid palate, oily with some peach, okay, but not for me. Served from 1/2 bottle.

  No note. This was consumed AFTER I consumed the whole green chili. Stupid.

• 2007 Dönnhoff Kreuznacher Kahlenberg Riesling Kabinett

  I liked this more than the others and thought it was a good deal for $26. It was slightly sweet and round, it did remind me of the Chateau Ste Michelle rieslings that I liked when I first started off 10 years ago, but with more nose and minerals than then. Nice.

I'd be happy to do the whole thing over. I love Thai and would like to play with a few more sweet wines.
