A unique encounter. Its like a sweet viognier. Wet mushrooms and spices of nutmeg cinnamon on the nose. Lovely jackfruit sweetness. Viscous and oily.

On first smells, got a lot of fishy cod liver oil which gave way to more pleasant mushrooms and wet wood. Decent but just a bit shy on the finish.

1982 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 84 Points

Second time tasting this and it still doesn't impress me as much as the whole vertical of Ducrus tasted to date. Yes, there were the nice floral scents intermixed with drying capsicum that slowly gave way to more dark cherry aromas with woodspice. Palate is gentle with light red fruits but still showing depth. As it swirled in the glass, more cigarette ash came to the fore.

Weloming and very open...maybe a bit loose. Medium bodied and quite an expressive wine, lightly flowered with mostly blackcurrant fruits punctuated with some spice notes.
