Introduction

Very enjoyable day at the RR Wine Road Barrel Tasting weekend, in perfect weather, visiting Swan, Woodenhead, Marimar Torres, Lynmar and Siduri/Novy. Swan featured barrel samples of some strong Syrahs and Zins. Woodenhead makes Pinot and Zin. The single vineyard Pinots I've had in the last year have been great, and these barrel samples promised more of the same. Marimar Torres' Chards aren't my style, but it's a lovely spot and the Pinots have intriguing spiciness. I was quite impressed by the Pinots and Syrahs at Lynmar, and, with the talent on hand here, this is definitely a place to watch. Finally, the tasting at Siduri/Novy was incredibly generous and extensive, with a number of great Siduri Pinots and Novy Syrahs on hand.
