Loved the El Nido (who doesn't). Also really enjoyed the Ordonez #2 Victoria bottling as well as the Flor de Pingus.
At a more reasonably priced level, I felt the nose of the Sierra Carche was astoundingly different from all the other wines.
Also, Jill and I both fell in love with the Valdespino Ximinez sherry. Purchased a half bottle for only 18 bucks...I'm telling you...pour it over ice cream.

Dark gold color and super viscous.
Roasted nuts, fresh dark amber honey, vanilla, and burnt lemon peel on the nose.
The palate shows impeccable depth with more dark tropical fruit. Mango and almonds.
Balanced finish that is quite enjoyably sweet. I recommend pouring this over some ice cream as a topping!!! Do it!

Light toasty red berries laced with fresh cinnamon notes.
Palate shows nice acidity. Some interesting complexity showcasing more red berries, baking spices and red flowers.
Some interesting earth notes on the back end. Balanced finish with moderate high acidity, moderate tannins, and moderate alcohol levels.

2005 Marqués de Riscal Verdejo Rueda 90 Points

After a few years of age, this Verdejo is already medium golden color. Beautiful balance and liveliness still exists in the juice though! It's really tasty.
Some nice mineral and even toasty notes have developed and the palate is great. This was really cool at only ten bucks!
