Introduction

I love Fred's winemaking, for Fort Ross and his own projects. It was a treat to meet his charming father Ed at the winery, and to taste through these limited releases. The '02 Cabernet is really impressive.

Nice raisiny, tasty, tart plum and raisins palate; medium finish 90+ pts. (from grapes left over from his father's vineyard, from '04 and '05 vintages)

Dark red violet color; nice smoky, blackberry, cassis and mint nose; very tasty, blackberry, lavender, black fruit and mocha palate; medium-plus finish (vines first planted by Fred's grandfather in 1912, most replanted from 1978 to 1983)
