Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2001 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Heimbourg

    France, Alsace

    (3/8/2009)

    From a 375ml. Indice 2
Deep gold color. Nose of pears, almonds.
On the palate some citrus, fresh unriped almonds, pronounced caramel. This is quite dry with multiple layers of complexity going on.
Nice acidity and an extra long finish with again a plaisant bitterness.

  • 2001 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Rotenberg

    France, Alsace

    (3/9/2009)

    Indice 4. Beautiful gold color.
On the nose some apricots, botrytis.
On the palate some orange marmelade, green tea, spices.
Such a great 'freshness' on the mid palate and a medium to long finish. This is slightly bitter with good acidity
Perfect with pate and cheese. Wow!
