  • 2001 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Coparossa Flawed

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

    WIMLNR

Tasted March 20, 2009 at an offline.

Opened about 5 hours before serving. Dark garnet color in the glass, slightly cloudy. Nose of anise, berries and a bit of florals. Flavors of black berries and a bit of black cherry. Light to medium acidity. Light to medium tannins, light to medium body. Drink or hold.

NOTE: this bottle didn't really perform as expected and therefore no rating. When I happened to smell the bottle I thought I got a slight aroma of TCA but that did not present itself in the glass or on the palate. It just under performed on the nose and palate. Revisited the next day at a different offline and the wine was markedly worse than the day before.

  • 1997 Jarvis (California) Winery Cabernet Sauvignon

    USA, California, Napa Valley

NOTE: others at the dinner that tasted this shortly after opening thought the wine was really good. By the time that I got to it 2 hours later it had pretty much fallen apart. Bear this in mind when opening.
