NOTE: this bottle didn't really perform as expected and therefore no rating. When I happened to smell the bottle I thought I got a slight aroma of TCA but that did not present itself in the glass or on the palate. It just under performed on the nose and palate. Revisited the next day at a different offline and the wine was markedly worse than the day before.
Opened and poured about 2+ hours before serving. Dark purple to crimson color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of lacquer, anise and balsamic. Some flavors of currants and berries. Light to medium acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Drink now.
NOTE: others at the dinner that tasted this shortly after opening thought the wine was really good. By the time that I got to it 2 hours later it had pretty much fallen apart. Bear this in mind when opening.
