France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru
Way too much green tobacco leaf on the nose, and carries into the palate. This wine usually has really nice fruit, but not in this vintage. Some people liked it a lot, but most of us gave it "thumbs down" (for the money). $65
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Bright Fruit nose, carries over to palate. Pretty light red fruits, cherry, raspberrry. Very silky and long finish. A usually high acid wine goes soft in low acid year. $89
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
Way too tight. Nose had a little bit of fruit. But other than that, this wine wasn't sharing ANYTHING. The only finish was sticky non-flavorful tannins. $33
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Nose of herbs, a little menthol on top of perfumed fruit. Very soft and pretty pedigree cherry fruit. Not unctuous enuf for me yet, but give this guy 5 years and WOW (hopefully). $88
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Killer big nose, blend of fruit and earth. Very balanced palate with nice acidity, deep red fruits. Still unctuous for a '96 red burg. Long finish. Keept getting better with time in the glass. After 3 hours score went from 93 to 96. $139
2006 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 83 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
Earthy nose. Cranberry fruit, and I don't like cranberries. No one liked this wine. Very thin. $43
