Introduction

Was suppose to do some wine collection in town in the evening but last minute was cancelled. So to satisfied 3 thirsty fellows, decide to try do a small drinking party in ES.

Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 2004 Martinborough Vineyard Pinot Noir

    New Zealand, North Island, Wairarapa, Martinborough

    This was from the crystal recent warehouse clearance, the nose is impressive with red fruits and hint of spice. But the palate is disappointing with the mid palate went missing once it hit the palate. Rather get some burg village for the price.

  • 1985 Bouchard Père et Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières

    France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru

    This is surprising young from the colour, found out that it was recorked by the domaine in 2003. The nose display a great red fruits with plenty of burgundy character. The palate is light with red fruits taste and the oaks and tannins were fully resolved. Finished is ok.

  • 2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    My last bottle of the half bottle format, decanted it for about 1-2 hr, this wine nose kept on evolving throughout the night, from the red fruits, raspberry nose to the animalistic character of blood to the white pepper style. The palate is damn nice, red fruits,spice and so much more to offer, it's a great wine in making. Hold on to it for a few more years and should be better than the 04. Can't wait to try the 06 and 07.
