Knightsbridge

Another really nice winemaker dinner up at Knightsbridge. This time the guest of honor was Jean Nicolas in a rare (first time?) visit to Chicago. It was great hearing his comments on the wines and relative vintages (06 - better more stuffing, but tighter; 07- earlier easier drinking but not as long lived).
Chef Matt took a few chances with the menu for this dinner. Highlights for me were the tartare (although an awefully large portion) and sweetbreads.
Apparently there was a spactacular Leroy Richebourg night-cap but I took off a little early to catch the NCAA finals before an early flight the next day. Doh!

Bright red color. Full tight black cherry nose. Nice simpler palate - tight and young.

Bright red color. Medium bright red fruit nose. Spicier dried red fruit on the palate. More complexity and a bit less ripe than the 06.

Bright red color. Dustry almost slightly oaky nose. Nice reipe round soft red cherry palate. Nice for a village wine.
