Dark purple colour. A very expressive nose of liqorice, incense, caramel toffee, pain grille, anise and other spice. Good fruit concentration and structure for aging. An infant now, but has a lot going in the wine that hints a promising future.
More restraint than the 2006 and required some coaxing to open up. Quite elegant with ripe berries, liqorice, spices, coffee, pain grille and toffee. Medium length and a dry finish with fairly harsh tannins. More time needed.
This is drinking very nicely now. Very fine tannins. Ripe berries, cassis, liqorice, spice, cedar oak, menthol and some toffee notes, all rolled into a long minerally finish. Delicious.
The wine seemed to be in an awkward phase. It offers a very impressive nose of ripe fruits, incense, sandalwood, spice, dried exotic flowers and some nice green pepper nuance. The palate was rather muted, on the other hand, with a medium finish. A little disappointing, but I can't help but feel that given time, this will turn into a real beauty. Let's wait and see.
