Ripe brambly cherries with stems in tact. A bit smoky and some essence of pandan. Somewhat confected but also peppery. Quite alky with fresh berries. Exits quite like a lady.

Steamed kueh, indian flowers, old leather and tar. This is quite extracted, inkish with raspberry liquer and cassis. Finish is okay.

More elegant than those tasted before this. Compact cherries and strawberry-flavoured chewy gummies. Also reminds me of those perfumed aerosol room sprays and actually a bit of "Off" insect spray, which is quite sweet smelling. Composed palate but a bit singular though focused. Sappy and powdery tannins.

An even more confected sweet nose compared to the Starderi. This is daintier too.Riper sappy red fruits with some spices. Forgettable.

Much more restrained sweetness on the nose but still showing some sweet flowers. Brambly, tarry and some spices. Ah! Finally, a real lovely and elegant showing of light cherries, summer berries and dash of hawthorne berries. Grippy sand-like tannins that lingers a while .

2004 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barolo Vürsù Vigneto Campè 85 Points

A bit funky which I like. Ribena vodka with cranberry juice. Brambly tar but with a thin green streak. Cabbagey on the palate with lots of black cherries, brambles and spice. Structured and feels more extracted than the Gallina. Teeth coating tannins.

Black gunpowder smoke, cat's pee and a smelly rusty dusty cupboard. Quite ripe and sweet with modern extract. Almost like cooked black fruits.

Smoky burnt hay and gunsmoke. Sweet and toasted oak. Ripe black cherries but v alky with nail polish oomph. Standard issue.

Extremely smoky, dried up grass with just a twist of grapefruit zest. Feels heavily oaked. Sharp gooseberries finishing with some pink grapefruit. Feels heavy handed.

2008 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Moscato d'Asti Bricco Quaglia 85 Points

Suprisingly pleasant and attractive! Spritzy sweet honeysuckled elderflowers and honeydew melons. Just nicely ripe on the palate with the right balance of sweetness. Yummy but not in a slutty style. I like.
