    Medium light ruby. Some signs of age. Blue fruit. Plums and chocolate on the nose.
    Palate shows medium blue fruit. Ripe blueberry, leather and a clean pure balanced finish.

  • 2001 Dominus Napanook Red 92 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

    Medium ruby. Very little age showing. Dark chocolate and cola aromas. Totally lively ripe blueberries on the nose.
    The palate shows more blueberries, licorice, chocolate, with a nice dusty but lush finish.
    Nice sweet tannins. Lovely. Favorite of the Napanooks tasted.

    Deep ruby color. Medium ripe red fruit. Wood some floral. Lots of tightly wound red fruit on the palate.
    Quite tight tannins now. Dark sour cherry.

  • 1994 Dominus Estate Napanook Vineyard 93 Points

    Some medium ruby color. Not opaque. Aromas of barnyard, funk, rustic cherries and raspberries, with a little blackberry too.
    Palate is softer than others in the tasting showing excellent age. Beautiful finesse and elegance here with excellently integrated tannins.

  • 1996 Dominus Estate Napanook Vineyard 94 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

    Rusty ruby color. Nose of cherry, raspberry pie, cinnamon and other freshly baked berry goods.
    Palate shows more lively cherries with a soft cinnamon and butterscotch characteristic.
    Lighter bodeid but still very complex and lengthly. Delicate showing excellent finesse.

  • 1997 Dominus Estate 95 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

    A classic wine in a classic vintage. Deep ruby. Barely opaque color.
    Earthy, dustry rustic fruit aromas. The palate shows superb balance with a clean red berry essence.
    Nutmeg, chocolate and hazelnut also on the nose.
    Red raspberries, lush maracino cherries lead to a perfectly round finish. Bravo! Still singing today.

    Incredible. Deep beautiful ruby. Totally opaque. Monstrous aromas of blackberries, coffee, mocha leather and scorched earth.
    Palate shows beautiful balance of blackberries, espresso, and earth. Lovely purity and age showing here.
    This is a true classic for Dominus that will stand with the best California Cabs ever produced.

  • 2005 Dominus Estate 93 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

    Deep color. Opaque. Deep tight cherries, blackberries, vanilla and anise.
    Palate shows fresh young tannic fleshy red fruit. Blackberries too with chocolate and doctor's office aromas and "flavors."
    Beautiful round and excellent balance overall. Really a tour de force that needs a decade to settle down.
