Medium dark color. Candied fruit and lavender on the nose. After 2 unimpressive low end wines, finally one with some glycerine and texture. Fairly simple black fruit, long tannic finish. Pretty good.
Deep ruby. Very fragrant berry and whole cluster aromas. Quite round with very good fruit and mouth feel punctuated by a snap of acidity at the end. Not that tannic at all and drinking quite well now. I like this more than past versions of this cuvee that I've tried. Very good Cotes du Rhone.

Deep, dark color. Lower pitched nose with tar, leather, lavender, and black fruit. The most complex and harmonious of the first 5 wines tasted, with a combination of red and black fruit, and a very persistent roundly tannic finish. Impressive material here.

Medium color with a distinctly lighter edge. High pitched, forward red fruit and garrigue. Beautiful middle weight with strawberry, caramel, and some herbs with more acidity than tannin on the finish. Naturally sweet, elegant, well integrated, and forthcoming Chateauneuf which can be drunk with pleasure now. Interestingly, to its benefit, this seemed less dense and extracted than this producer's Cotes du Rhone Tres Vieilles Vignes.

Beautiful deep purple with great clarity. Complicated aromatics of red fruit, leather, and some sweatiness. Big, closed, serious wine with a deep core of black licorice and somewhat searing tannins on the finish-very old fashioned impression. You can feel more than taste the underlying ripe fruit. What a complete contrast to the Milliere that came before it! Put this one away; it could be really good if it is not overtaken by brett.
2007 Domaine de Cristia Côtes du Rhône

Medium depth of color. Spicy, minty aroma. Sweet entry quickly falls off to reveal a skinny wine with more acid than fruit. Not enough here.

Medium color with camphor and licorice tones. Medium to lighter weight, bland and "underfruited" with acid sticking out.
