OR Pinot Event (Land Stewardship Project)

Introduction
This event was truly special as it featured many well known OR producers and a few of the tables had people from the winery and even some owners and winemakers like Mark Vlossak, whose St. Innocent wines showed amazingly well. My notes are brief given how many wines and the short duration of the event. I have only reviewed a portion of the wines sampled that were of high merit. A free Riedel OR Pinot stem (Flow) was included. Great Event!!
2006 Torii Mor Pinot Noir Dundee Hills Select 89 Points

Nose: Loamy earth. Palate: Soft red fruit and elegant. Nice but a little spendy.

2007 Lange Pinot Noir Reserve 89 Points

2006 Lange Pinot Noir Three Hills Cuvée 90 Points

Nose: Red fruit aromas with a pronounced perfumy/floral aroma. Palate: Bright red fruit, soft yet spicy. Nice. Best of the Lange line up.

2006 Bethel Heights Pinot Noir Casteel Reserve 90 Points

Nose: Very deep, dark fruits. Palate: The dark fruit follows on palate. Very Pommard like (apparently there is a fairly high percentage of Pommard clone in this). Best of the Bethel line up.

2005 Argyle Pinot Noir Nuthouse Willamette Valley 90 Points

Nose: Spicy, floral nose w/ loamy hints. Palate: Very juicy styled red fruits. The wine is very lively and perhaps a touch more modern than some other OR producers. Nonetheless a fun wine and a much better QPR than the 2006 Spirithouse which I also tasted and enjoyed.

2007 St. Innocent Pinot Gris Vitae Springs Vineyard 89 Points

Nose: Bright and fresh floral with some mineral aromas. Palate: Clean entry. Good acid and very fresh and clean. Alsatian in style (although not Alsace) and dry although not bone dry. Well made.

Nose: Ripe, red fruits with perfumy flowers. Palate: Good acid with some of the perfumy qualities showing. Very unique style and well made.

2006 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard 92 Points

Nose: Very loamy with some celery present. Palate: Big acid with delicate red fruits. Wonderful and tied for #2 WOTN with the 2007 White Rose vineyard.

2007 St. Innocent Pinot Noir White Rose Vineyard 92 Points

Nose: Big and spicy with some earthy hints. Palate: The spice comes through loud and clear on this one. So elegant with an amazingly clean finish. Tied for #2 WOTN with the 2007 Seven Springs vineyard.

2007 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard 93 Points

Nose: Big loam and red fruit, leather, earth and floral hints. Palate: Big earth, acid and spice all competing for first chair yet the balance is unreal. Like the other offerings from Vlossak this is elegant and the finish is clean and lenghty. My WOTN. These St. Innocent wines are amazing and by far showed better than all of their worthy peers by other producers at the event.
