Gorgeous nose of ripe Chardonnay and honeysuckle (after a half hour in glass, candlewax and yeast comes through too); big, rich but balanced, honeyed at the edges with the Viognier peeking through, medium finish 92 pts.
(half Grenache, half Syrah) - deep black cherry on nose; decent C-d-R, dark cherry and sous bois, a little too much vanilla oak on edges, good tannic grip, medium finish 88 pts.
Very appealing nose of boysenberry and blackberry jam on toast; big, w/firm tannins and finely grained black fruit, medium finish (needs time but likely to be beautiful in a few years) 92 pts
Baked rhubarb, vanilla and boysenberry nose; too jammy and oaky, unbalanced, with medium oaky finish (possible problem case, since at least two bottles tasted off like this, and not the way the store owner remembered it from a prior tasting) 81 pts.
Iintoxicating blueberry essence and cassis on nose; very tasty, surprisingly so for a young Cornas, with blueberries and boysenberries on a firm, balanced mid-palate, medium finish 92 pts.
(80% Mourvedre) another beautiful nose, of violets and black fruit essences; very tasty, refined and gorgeous black fruit and minerals, medium to long finish 95+ pts. (Reminiscent of aged Tempier "La Tourtine.")
Lots of toast on nose along with plush black fruit and milk chocolate; tasty black fruit and good sap on palate supported by plush tannins, long finish 93 pts.
2003 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Pays d'Hérault Blanc 92 Points
