Tasted along side the '05. The 05 is oak forward and lush. This is more reserved and a bit more french like. It, however, lacked some character. Still a good drink but on the downward side of the peak.

Tasted along side the '04. This is oak forward and lush. The '04 is more reserved and a bit more french like. It, however, lacked some character and is on the downward side of the peak--but still quite good. This '05 was energetic and spritely. A bit in your face and lacking some finesse but very enjoyable. Maybe it was just this bottle but the oak seems to be settling down somewhat from the last bottle 6 months ago.

Still youthful with lots of fresh fruit. Light-medium bodied with many of sharp edges that made this ok but not great. If I had another bottle I'd try it again in 2011.
Popped and poured, I didn't like. It was a mid-80s score of vegetal, green and disjointed experiences. The bottle wasn't finished so it was corked and put in the fridge. I forgot about it and then opened 3 days later. Everything unpleasant about had evaporated leaving a wonderfully round, soft wine, medium body with great fruit/acid balance. Complete harmony.
Succulent. Wow this is really spectacular. Delicate and sweet without being cloying. Acid stay mostly in the background, giving it structure without taking over. Lots of tropical fruit and honey. Mouthwatering finish that lasts a good 20 seconds. It's not a very complex wine but a spectacular value. The acidity is light so it will be interesting to see how the case evolves over the next 15 years.

lots of strawberries, acidity stays mostly in the background which is nice. very approachable and quite enjoyable.

Spectacular. Rich and fully resolved tannins. Lots of earth, prosciutto and sex in the nose. Mouth is soft and velvety. Easily WOTN.
