• 2007 Owen Roe Riesling DuBrul Vineyard 88 Points

  USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley

  Planted in 1982. Clean, and laced with nice yellow and green fruit, minerality.
  Nice sweetness on the nose, but the palate shows no residual sugar with striking acidity.
  Extremely enjoyable. Needs time to open up though.

• 2008 Owen Roe Pinot Gris Crawford-Beck Vineyard 91 Points

  USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills

  Burnt yellow color.
  Light peach, apricot, lightly roasted nuts.
  Layered nose of spicy white and yellow flowers, baking spices, light molasses and nutmeg.
  A unique malty vanilla play is also on the nose...vanilla malt all the way.
  Lively acid on the palate which shows more well developed yellow fruit, slate, vanilla and baking flour/yeast.
  Very complex, especially for a wine at this price point.
  Especially stunning in the nose.

• 2008 Owen Roe Pinot Noir Sharecropper's 90 Points

  USA, Oregon

  Solid expression of Oregon Pinot Noir.
  Nice spicy strawberry, cranberry, white pepper and of course underlying shrooms.
  Very young and quite tight at the moment.
  An excellent value.

• 2007 Owen Roe Pinot Noir "The Kilmore" 87 Points

  USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton

  Darker, richer, more extraction and more out of balance than The Sharecropper's, which is half the price.
  The palate is a bit austere and vegetal. Not loving the palate.
  Still decent...just not for the coin.

• 2007 Owen Roe Sinister Hand 89 Points

  USA, Washington, Columbia Valley

  2/3 Grenache. Nice and dark cherry. Woody with a nice mouth feel.
  Good length. A little bacon fat on the back end.
  Again, very nice acidity as a whole from this producer.

• 2007 Corvidae Wine Co. Rook Columbia Valley 88 Points

  Surprisingly high extraction for a wine at this price point.
  Fantastic value.
  Dark rich blackberries, blueberries. Nice cassis, leather and char.
  Palate is quite creamy and round. Couldn't believe this was a $12 bottle!!
  I very rarely like red wines below fifteen bucks, but this is an exception.

  Least favorite wine of the evening.
  Simple, one dimensional red fruit.
  Not exciting, yet, nothing to complain about. Finish is a little rough but fine as a whole.

• 2007 Owen Roe Cabernet Franc Rosa Mystica 91 Points

  USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley

  Well extracted full bodied dark chocolate covered cherries on the nose.
  Maple syrup play as well.
  Elegant showing very nice acidity. Rhubarb with more chocolate on the palate.
  Lots of finesse. Excellent wine for the money. Tastes like a bottle twice its price from St. Emillion.

• 2002 Owen Roe Merlot DuBrul Vineyard 91 Points

  USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley

  Elegant dark berries. Blueberries, plum, vanilla, oak. Classic extra fresh on the palate. Excellent depth with a solid focused finish.
  Soft smooth mouth feel. A touch of black truffle on the back end.
  Very nice.

  Awesome cult like nose. Huge extraction with layered purple berries, and flowers. Soft and silky. Excellent showing of heat onthe finish.
  Most enjoyable red wine of the evening.
