Introduction
Nice wines, but it's unfair to the wines to try them all together like this, standing up, with a few apps passed around. By the time these wines get to my market, the price is usually not extremely attractive either.
2007 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly 88 Points

11/12/09: A little earth. Nice berry fruit. Delicious stuff, with more earth on the finish. Just a tad too pricey to do anything with, though. 88-90
8/20/09: Some spices on the nose. Tasty stuff, but a little lean right now. Very good. 87-88

Seems fruit forward for the AC. There's a strange flavor underneath that almost makes me wonder if the bottle is off a little bit.

2008 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé 90 Points

Soft and elegant on the nose. Just damn tasty on the palate. Easily up there with some of my favorite Roses of the year, along with Pradeaux and my the Peyrassol, which at under $20 wins the best value award.

8/20/09: This always seems to be such an enjoyable, almost hedonistic Gigondas. Sweet raspberry fruit, hints od Garrigue. Just delicious. 90-92

10/30/09: Funky, rubbery nose at first. Herbs and olives. But pleasant. A touch of brett comes in and out with time. Really tart acidity, in a good way. Nice, rustic S. France wine. I'd like the price a couple dollars less, but what can you do? 87-88
8/20/09: Funky stuff on the nose. High acid. Tart, and pretty crazy. Stands out in a crowd. Good. 87-89

2007 Clos La Coutale Cahors 89 Points

10/16/09: Smooth, slightly rustic wine. Smooths out and gains depth over the course of a few hours. Has lots of edges that work really well. 88ish
On day two, a gorgeous cinammon note came out on a very seductive nose, and this was really rocking, altough it lost some of its edges. The price has gone up on this, but it's still a solid deal even more then $15. 89-90
8/20/09: Gorgeous nose. Lots of fruit and funk all mingling together. Deliciously funky and rustic. has a nice ripeness there. This is tasty stuff, and I didn't even have it with food. 88-89
