By far my favorite wine of the day...one of the best bottles I've ever experienced. Flawless from start to finish. The color is a gorgeous velvet medium light purple. The nose is in a word amazing. Showing wonderfully fragrant super ripe cherries, raspberries, gobs of CREME DE CASSIS, rose petals, light mocha, the aromas beckon your attention with each whiff. A secondary wave of graphite, vanilla and oak coats my palate. It is a monumental blend that is powerful, yet feminine with a finish that shows as much finesse as any world class wine. A rich creamy mouth feel shows flavors of marachino cherries, milk chocolate, loads of creamy red flowers, and red bell peppers with a slight rusty nail play on the back end. I am immediately in love with the Les Pavots bottling. If you want to truly treat yourself to something wonderful, this just might be an option.
Lovely. Fragrant and quite 'fruity.' Some nice bramble berries, laced with mushrooms, lead pencil, mocha and cinnamon. Nice vanilla tones on the back end. Royal mouth feel. Earthy and well balanced. A barnyard and blackberry driven youngster.

Aromas of spicy cola, cinnamon, baking spices and a heavy BLUE CHEESE play...really funky. Cardboard, strawberries and leather also on the nose. Really nice and luxurious on the palate. Flavors of soy sauce, light balsamic and dried herbs...really nice action. Incredibly unique showing remarkable terroir. Classic in style.
Light spicy cinnamons and clove. Lighter rubbing alcohol play with mossy earth notes especially dried herbs. Some old tire and tar on the nose too. Very nice acidity. Drinking very well. Lovely and feminine in style. A strong minty note on the nose and palate after opening up for a bit. Bay leaves. Solid.
Lovely reflection of terroir. Lovely, sexy and flamboyant. Lots of life and grip on the palate. A unique rusty nail play with lush roundness on the palate. Rustic spicy and robust finish. Outstanding.
Hezy opened this 'for Keith.' A massive fruity bomb...lush ripe loud fruit. Blackberries, burnt plastic, earth and crushed gravel. Palate is full and very well extracted. I enjoyed this alot but it needed hours to open up, not minutes.

First of two half bottles popped and poured. This one had the color and aromatics of a TAWNY PORT. Light brown color and light brown-red and orange fruit on the nose. We didn't give the aromas justice, but spicy strawberries, light soy sauce, and bacon fat with a touch of light caramel aromatics were singing in the glass. The palate was super elegant with a tad of chewyness on the finish. More light fruit, marmalade, lightly roasted almonds. Very nice. Not primo, but a treat for sure.

Second of two half bottles popped and poured. Both bottles were recorked in 1971 - it did not specify, though, whether or not this occured at the chateau. This bottle showed characteristics of a ruby port. The color was a deep crimson red with hints of dark brown. The aromatics showed stewed dark liquered berries. Richer and much more lively than the previous bottle, this one showed a light raspberry aand leather note. Some cotton candy tones coming through in the precious last sip.
Soft supple red fruits. Very creamy and feminine. Focused allspice, clove, vanilla. Finish is very well balanced. Fantastic. Verite has never let me down as being nothing less than remarkable.
