All I can say is that the 2005 Peter Michael Les Pavots is a wine to reckoned with, and weather your tastes trend towards Cali. Cabs., Bordeaux, Baloro, or Burgundy, this wine will get your attention.

A wine to make one think California can compete with the greatest wines in the world. This wine is blue and black fruited with an incredible nimble balance and firm but sweet, with a nobility that begs, no commands respect and reverence! There was chalky, mineral drivern blue and black fruit beginning that gave way to a finish to die for and a smooth, but firm and balanced ending that makes me want to order cases.

1998 Seavey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 91 Points

This wine started a little austere, but turned out very very good. I love the way 1998's are drinking now, it almost had a Barolo profile. This started with a little asphalt and fertilizer, then gave way to a dark fruited, not too ripe wine that was great with food. The last bottle of a case I bought a few years ago.

A wonderful wine, that was sadly drunk after the 2005, a wine that will flirt with perfection one day. This wine was all together more gathered and tartly fruited in the beginning than the 2005. There are certainly minerals here but the wine has a more red fruited profile with a tart raspberry slightly perfumed entry. This is a terrific wine that will drink really great one day, but the year younger brother will always reign supreme!

Highly perfumed with spiky pungent red raspberries and a little chalky mineral. Very ripe but not burnt. This wine has a pretty strong but integrated oak bosom. For me, I cannot tell if the wine is a little short on depth, or just heavy in the middle. Overall a nice wine; not a wine I would seek extensively, but a wine none the less that I would drink with friends casually or with a meal and enjoy. I can't wait to reciprocate with my friend a nice Burgundy or Barolo of equal value.
