  • 2005 Patz & Hall Chardonnay Dutton Ranch 91 Points

    USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

    Excellent Chard. Beautiful acidity with an enjoyable round mouth feel.
    Notes of green and yellow apples, light citrus and some nice yellow flowers.
    Excellent bottling. I enjoyed this vineyard quite a bit more thantheir Durrell Chardonnay.

  • 2006 Hahn Chardonnay SLH Estate Vineyard 89 Points

    USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands

    Nice darker roasted nuts when compared to the Patz n Hall Dutton.
    More nice dark yellow fruit with a viscous sensation on the palate.
    Not bad at all for the price.

  • NV Taittinger Champagne Brut Prestige Rosé 90 Points

    France, Champagne

    Mike Q. brought this little goody to add some bubbly to the evening festivities.
    Pink grapefruit, gravel and rose petals on the nose.
    Extremely floral. Lovely acidity on the palate showing more grapefruit and light red berry flavors.
    Fantastic. Very well played card by Q.

  • 2003 David Arthur Meritaggio 92 Points

    Lovely essence of terroir. Never dissapointed with Bob Long's wines.
    Awesome unique black licorice, charred wood and rock, blackberries and fresh road tar.
    Palate is gorgeously structured with a superb mouth feel, excellent acidity and well integrated tannins.
    More dark blackberry fruit, black lava rock and anise flavors.

  • 2005 Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Annette's Reserve 88 Points

    USA, California, North Coast, Redwood Valley

    Solid masculine Zin from Rosenblum.
    I've had their non reserve bottlings and I think for the money they may be the way to go.
    This Annette's is extremely masculine with lots of dark black pepper and super jammy spice.
    It's quite good but a little over the top for me without the balance I was looking for from this producer.

  • 2005 Cuvaison Two Estates 92 Points

    This is a winery only bottling Brad and Jen picked up in Napa.
    Lovely nose of cassis, dark cherries, mocha and light earth notes.
    Round waxy on the palate with more dark berries and chocolate flavors.
    Very nice finish with lovely soft and silky tannin structure.

  • 2006 Brandlin Cabernet Sauvignon 93 Points

    WOTN. Fantastic single vineyard Cab from Mount Veeder.
    This limited production bottling only available at the winery is fantastic.
    Classic California Cab nose of creme de cassis, leather, rich dark charred wood and purple flowers.
    Flavors of dark cherry, cassis and dark roast espresso lead to a rich yet elegant finish.
    A super baby of a wine this is one to cellar for a decade or more.

Great evening of beautiful wines, the 2006 Brandlin Cabernet being the highlight.
