Introduction
Excellent range and very well priced. I did not note all of the '07 Premier Crus, all of which were very good but seemed a bit behind the Vaillons.

Pale. Nice balance of Vaillons richness with the terrific acidity of '07.

2008 Domaine Pinson Frères Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume

After tasting through the range of Pinson's '07 Premier Crus, it was striking to see the greater volume and much earlier approachability of this '08. The acidity and minerality were there but in the background.

2007 Domaine Pinson Frères Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

Limpid. Classic, very pure Chablis nose. Lovely mid-weight wine with outstanding back end intensity and expansion. Without question, the best wine of the range even if it might not scale the heights of other producers' Clos. I greatly preferred it to the Authentique cuvee that was presented next.

Slightly deeper than the normale. Obvious toast obscures the more typical Chablis aromatics. Richer and rounder than that wine. Not for me. Why dress up wonderful underlying material with all that wood and take it out of the realm of Chablis?

2006 Domaine Pinson Frères Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

Very light yellow. Much more ripe, exotic aromatics than the '07 version. Good and pure, but a clear contrast to the linear, classic dimensions of the younger wine. I worry about these '06s over time.
