I am not sure if this was released recently following in the footsteps of Vege Sicilia's Unico 10 year cellar release but for sure this really feels aged. Browning at the rim with dirty blood colour. Lots of soy sauce notes , tired aged cherries and some beef blood soup. Over its peak and on the decline.
Classic barolo with good balance and still showing that robustness of a barolo but really in an elegant way. Oak well integrated into some cherries, meat and touch of savoriness. Some tar, some leather and some secondary spices. Moderate finish with pleasant ring at the end. All in all, this would be an excellent wine at any semi formal sit down dinner.
At first really tight and unrelenting with harsh tough tannins and ruggard fruits. With time, this became a concoction of black tea leaves, cigar , tobacco leaves and more grape leaves. An esteemed showing of regal fruits. Seems classically made and none of that big monstrous wine. Nicely balanced but needs time to come together.
Modernly styled with ripe dense bowl of crushed black raspberries and black cherries and violets in a nice culmination of mouth satisfying finish. Good wine.

As good as one would expect a second label of Ornellaia should be. Ripe juicy expression of fruits, modern but controlled oak. Some vanillin, some smoke and tobacco and really has good depth of fruits. Will hold on for a quite a few years. Satisfying wine.
Smoky almost tarrish notes. You could almost feel the scorched earth on this pinot. Some tobacco and bbq savory meats too. Not a pinot down my alley but still drinkable if not a little different. The oak or earthy notes is kinda overwhelming but cant make out if it is the oak or old world earthiness.
