Very floral. Honeyed apple and cream notes. Bit of toast. Fairly full and creamy in the mouth, very rich and mouthfilling. Wonderful honeyed finish. Well balanced, great food wine. You wouldn't guess this is 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Very moreish, but very pricey.
Baked ripe black fruit and nicely perfumed. Very fresh bouquet. Tannic and astringent right now, but plenty of lush fresh black fruit. Some herbaceous flavours on the long finish. Great wine, definitely a keeper (began to open up following an hour or so in the glass). Lovely ripe fresh fruit and superbly structured.
Dusty plum colour. Looks young. Black fruit, reasonably fresh aroma. Baked and slightly jammy once opened up in the glass. Soft mouthfeel, not overly tannic, with a velvet texture and nice dense fruit. Nicely balanced, drinking well now, without having any wow factor. Not for the long term methinks.
Very dark, almost black. A good dollop of cassis greets the nose, but there's a vegetal character to the bouquet too and a whiff of cedar. Full bodied, plenty of black fruit and dark chocolate. Slightly bitter fruit. A tannic monster and exceptionally chewy, yet the fruit just seemed to die away quickly. I think the tannins are just too overwhelming at the moment, and can do with being just a touch less macho for my personal taste.
Ruby colour, plenty of development. Pungent vegetal nose, tobacco with savoury baked fruit. Very soft palate with spicy savoury fruit. Just slightly light in depth, but nonetheless nicely integrated and drinking well now. On its plateau so start drinking up.
Slightly brickish at the rim. Very earthy and leafy nose. Quite woody, vegetal and developed. Think you can detect the Cab Franc in here. Palate has a silky delicacy, and the fruit is very present especially on the finish. Very good and very good value for a second wine of a top property.

20 years on and this is delicious. Very developed colour, lovely mahogany look to it. Nose incredibly mature, and not much fruit in there. But the palate is wonderful if you love aged Bordeaux. Still tastes fresh and silky. The fruit is still there and comes right back through a long finish.
