2002 V. Sattui Winery Sauvignon Blanc Suzanne's Vineyard Napa Valley

Pale straw and flat aromas and flavors of grapefruit, stone fruits with a dry finish, which was the best part of the wine. Did improve with air, but marginally. Not rated as pasts it prime. Drink up if you have any.

What a great find! straw color, with a nose of lychee fruits, rose petal and some tropical notes. The fruit is fairly sweet and follows on from the nose. For the price, around $10, this is a steal.

2002 Fritz Winery Sauvignon Blanc Jenner Vineyard 88 Points

This tastes more like a Loire Chenin Blanc on steroids (from a producer like Huet for example) than a Sauvignon Blanc!. A huge, fruity, sweet nose with pineapple and other tropical with hints of persimmon. Sweet, sorbet-like, in the mouth with a sugar coated finish. Best as a dessert wine.

2003 Smoking Loon Merlot 80 Points

Sweet berry fruits, simple flavors, and a very dry finish. Would be a good party wine for non-wine drinkers. SL normally a litlte better than this effort.
