Introduction
A big charity event sponsored by Liberty Wine Merchants featuring over 50 British Columbia producers (including a few craft beers also). A good opportunity to sample a wide variety of these wines. There were so many to taste that I could only write limited notes at best, sometimes only a numerical score.
Although not actually organized into actual flights, I've shown the wines below in three flights - red, white and sweet/fruit - for ease of reading.
Flight 1 - Reds: (20 Notes)
Flight 2 - Whites: (17 Notes)
Flight 3 - Fruit Wines: (10 Notes)
Closing
With the exception of some of the sweet fruit wines, there were no standouts in my opinion; nothing that says "must buy". I don't know whether this range of wines is or is not representative of the whole local industry. If these guys didn't bring their best to this event, then they missed a great marketing opportunity. On the other hand, if these are their best, then I probably won't be looking for many more BC wines.
