From 40 year old vines. No oak. There are fresh red fruits and a hint of bubblegum on the nose. There's good structure on the palate with a bit of grip from the tannins on the finish. Works very well.
A 9 hectare domain, owned by Pierre-Marie Chermette since 1992. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and cement tanks. It then spends six months in one-third new oak, two-thirds used (between 1 and seven years old). There's strawberry and raspberry fruit on the nose. Very nice palate with the oak only really evident onthe finish.
Used oak only - between one and ten years old. Unfined, unfiltered, unsulphured. A notably fragrant nose. Possibly slightly confected. Fresh palate: this has a nice elegance and structure in the mouth. Quite an unusual wine. On the funky side of Beaujolais.
From 100 year old vines. The grapes are all destemmed, so there's no maceration carbonique. Unfined, unfiltered. A notably more mature colour. Bizarre nose with some volatility, blackberry and mint. There are ripe fruit flavours on teh palate, and it feels very structured.
