2004 Moon Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.  We bought it in 2007 at Sam's (now Binny's) in Chicago as one of our reds to serve guests mainly because it had a purple label that matched the color scheme.  We drank our previous last bottle on our 5 year anniversary earlier this year. It's a decent wine, but based on my note from then (yakyakwine), it's sentimental value mostly.

I recieved my Last Bottle Marathon bottles today.  All cool and snug.   My wife doesn't know I bought these (surprised, hunh?) and since I now have 7 bottles of our wedding day wine I will actually surprise her with them in April for years to come.   Not sure what to do when I run out again .

May I suggest at that point you just buy the winery?

Lo and behold, many more Moon Mountain offerings at yesterday's Mayan Madness Marathon!

Damn you guys... here I was not all set to not buy anything, and I have now bought a couple different bottles from the LBW sale. Nothing spectacular, and I (my wallet mainly) was able to resist the Dunn Cab, the SQN, and the 96 Margaux.

I would have bought the dunn but I was slammed at work and missed it by a few hours. Had an 81 a few years back and it knocked my socks off. Need to get more of that in my cellar. A lot more.

Looks like the marathon is still going on. This is much longer than the previous ones, but I guess it's a special occasion, what with the world not ending and all :-) .

And/or there might be a lot of random wines they still have left... Either way, I'm still looking to add more purchases!
There's a $9 Loire roussanne up right now that is somewhat intriguing, even though virtually no CT notes about the producer

I've picked up a few bottles here and there on this sale, but I must say that the variety and quality doesn't match the two former moving sales. Relatively fewer California cabs, and I've seen a few other offerings that were just repeats of offers they've had earlier in the year.

Not sure what the other sales have been like but this was certainly easy enough to put together a case from what I saw! Need to sit down and go back through my emails to know all I got. :-)

It's really nice to be able to get single bottles with no shipping. Last Bottle often has wines I'd like to try but don't want to get the quantity required for free shipping. A lot of this weekend's offers have been irresistible.

Well, I just got a wonderful notice that they shipped all the wines I bought at the last blowout today, and they won't be here until next week. That means they get to sit out in sub freezing temperatures for several nights. Not as bad as heat but not something that really makes me feel that they care about wine. Who ships wine ground on a Thursday? Another retailer off the list!

Same shipping story here, wine shipped yesterday, scheduled delivery is next Wednesday 7 days later. I'm keeping my fingers crossed - it was zero degrees here last night. I was happy to be able to buy a case of singles from Last Bottle, not many of their offers inspire me to gamble on as many bottles as they want for the free shipping. I guess the moral of this story is only buy from Last Bottle when the weather is nice. I'm just glad it isn't July or August.

My experience with LastBottle is that they only hold for hot weather, they shipped my wine in January last year also. The cold shouldn't be too big a deal unless the wine actually freezes, but it has to be at like 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit for that to happen. Although, you may get depressed corks.

The shipment arrived today, some of the corks seem a little depressed but the wine seems to have survived the cold. I was disappointed to discover that instead of the 2009 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett which I ordered they sent instead 2009 Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Kabinett. The Christoffel wine is not rated as highly and is not something I would have chosen to purchase. I see that several other CT members ordered the same thing and am curious to know if anyone else received the substitute.
