Find me a non-douche wine expert (even most of the amatuers I know are pretty douche, myself included at times). That said, the blog making fun of him was funny...

Is there a Suckling app for iPod? One that pops up a map with a big flashing red dot and the words "HE'S HERE" in big red type that keeps track of him in real time.

He could wear one of the parole ankle bracelets so it constantly updates, and there could be an hourly Twitter feed on his latest location.

Or maybe not

One experience I've yet to have because of the wine itself though it does give me a reason to keep drinking - not that I really needed one.

I'm +1 on that

Khamen,

I know you mean that tongue in cheek, but I suspect it is likely to be close to the truth...

On a positive note, I usually enjoy and respect Suckling's comments when he tastes older or mature wines (although I wish he spent less time on the rare trophies and more on the stuff most of us actually buy or drink).

i just watched a couple more videos on his site. it looks like he's abandoning the blind tasting format when scoring wines. in his italian tasting, he actually hesitates to tell the winemaker at vietti that he is going to score a couple wines below 90 points. although i'm not sure that there's ever been integrity in wine scoring, suckling seems to have thrown it out the window for his newest venture.
