Does anyone have experience with this seller? Is it easier to just join the producers' mailing lists?

Yes, and sometimes...

Full Pull pricing is comparable most of the time with winery direct. Sometimes a bit less, depending on winery club discounts, FP TPU pricing and other factors. One advantage to Full Pull is ability to selectively buy onesies or twosies to sample a wine or producer. For those of us local or semi local it's also easy to pick up in Seattle. For shipping customers, if you agree to wait to accumulate a case (of any 12 wines) to ship, then you get a bit better wine pricing (TPU). The thread above we often have discussions about individual offers from the retailer we affectionately refer to as "Damn Paul".

As someone living in MN, I love that I can get access to a bunch of WA wines that aren't widely distributed here and in quantities that are hard or uneconomical to buy direct from a winery when you're paying shipping. In the last 2-3 years, it is the retailer I have purchased the most from.

Paul grabs me on occasion for WA & Italian reds even though I do not need them.

Full Pull... hmmm... I do believe I've heard of this concern.
