From: Eric LeVine Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2003 2:27 AM Subject: CellarTracker! v1.3.9 Tonight I added a long requested feature—the ability to dynamically scope the various dropdowns while adding/editing a wine. Hurrah, it seems to work pretty well and is a real pain reducer. Along with that came some minor fit & finish and bug fix work. Here is what I did more specifically: Dynamic scoping When adding a wine, all the dropdowns should be repopulated each time a choice is made. That way you can't pick illegal combinations such as Country=France, and Region=Washington. Bug fixes Minor fit & finish. (1) Make the TYPEDOWN.HTC use a simple linear search so that it is more predictable. (2) Properly format dates on the transaction list so that events at midnight show a time. (3) Cleaned up the routines that do dropdown generation and fell back to one core routine for all scenarios. (4) When adding a new producer with an apostophe in the name, don't truncate it. (5) When adding a wine and referencing a producer not linked to any wines, redirect to the appropriate page rather than grinding to a halt. For the new folks, here is the list of current requests (actually I have more in email which I need to splice into this list, but it is close.) http://www.cellartracker.com/cellar_todo.asp I tend to nibble away at these as best I can at night (I have a day job after all). In a typical week I try to get one thing done from the list, but of course a lot of ideas come up and never make it to the pending side of the list. That said, my main driving motivation right now is to get through the set of Pri 1 and 2 features so that I can open the site more broadly. I will invariably dream up (with your help hopefully) more things that have to get done before I open this up. Thanks, Eric LeVine
