I print labels with bar codes for every bottle I receive into my cellar. I print them using Household Labels which are removable, available on Amazon (http://a.co/hR1IsBq). I stick the label on a plastic bottle tag, not the bottle (http://a.co/2S2X1Ty) The label wraps around the tag leaving human information on the front, and the bar code on the back. Now you can tell what a bottle is without pulling it from the rack or bin. When I grab a few bottles from the rack, I just throw the tags in a kitchen drawer. Later I can scan the tags to mark the bottles as consumed, and then peal off the removable label and reuse the plastic tag. I love bar codes. It identifies each bottle absolutely.
