I too am in the group that started with towels, upgraded to Winecheck (I have owned two of these over the years), then upgraded again to Vin Garde during the early COVID close-out. I truly wish we had gotten 2 of the 12-bottle Vin Garde cases at the time. One is enough if it's a short trip, but we often use half for wine/booze, half for clothes/CPAP, etc... They are great multi-purpose luggage. If we both had one for a trip to Mexico, for example, I could easily see these being our only luggage for a week, or two week, trip. We are going for 2 weeks in July, and I think I'll price out a second one now. Knock wood, we've never had a wine or booze bottle break/leak during air travel. ETA : Amazon lists the VinGarde 12 bottle at ~$380; various other brands and models as low as ~$200. I really like the quality, sturdiness, inserts, etc... of the VinGarde, so likely will stay loyal to that brand, might go for a smaller version, 6 or 8 bottle capacity.
