I've already spoken to a few CT'ers about this, but wanted to get it on people's calendars. I'll be in the area for a few days in late April and the evening of 4/23 has been set aside in my schedule for an offline. I'm staying with friends in the WeHo/BH/Carthay area, but have no problem coming over to the HH or Los Feliz.

Bar Covell and Spin the Bottle were both suggested as good options, but we can certainly talk about others. If anyone knows of a place in that area that we can BYOB, that might be an option as well.

Not sure if any of the OC crowd or even IE folks will be able to make it, but the more the merrier. I'll probably have a few non-CT'er friends join as well.

Sounds like fun though a little early for me to know for sure. WeHo would be better for Jeff & I but not sure who else is in the mix. Like the idea of having an offline at a wine shop also, or at least starting at one and then walking to a nearby restaurant.

I don't know if they allow BYOB, but there's a great place in WeHo that I've been to. Reasonable mark ups and a decent selection. I was there with people who enjoy wine, but aren't collectors and they had a lot in the $30-50 range that were tasty. I gave them some general guidelines and let them choose the bottles for us. No one was disappointed. Vinoteque on Melrose. Decent tapas style food as well.

My friends that own Spin The Bottle are also partners in a restaurant called Wood & Vine - http://www.woodandvine.com/

I'm sure we could arrange a fun BYOB dinner there if that's of interest.

not exactly in the immediate vicinity... but manchego in Santa Monica has a wine shop next to it, and its BYOB
upstairs2 has a great wine list and allows byob, corkage is discounted if bought from the wine store downstairs...

Good info, although I don't really want to drive all the way out to Santa Monica again that day--I'll be there in the morning, but then in Glendale of Los Feliz in the afternoon.

I wouldn't either...sounds like a high dollar affair anyway.
