The twist is that I don't know what it is! I bought it for 37.99 at a full-freight liquor/wine retailer in SoCal, wrote the note but then forgot the label. I'll call the shop and figure it out in few days (only Pinot in the shop at that price) but in the mean time can you guess the AVA, label and vintage from the note? I doubt it but hey who knows?! Thanks for playing, here's the note: Pulled the cork and poured. At first overwhelming aroma of dial soap, which quickly opened to sarsaparilla, the dry Jaegermeister-like herbs, tart candied cherries, a little Jasmine floating above it all. The wine shop clerk described it as lightly-extracted and Willamette style, but this was not even close to the case. Medium extract for a Cali Pinot and high for Oregon. Doesn't have the earthy aspect of Willamette wine. Opened over a couple hours to purer fruit and added soft cinnamon candy to the mix. Short finish throughout its evolution and can be faulted as a little hot for a wine w/o the stuffing to support it. Nothing wrong with it but nothing special either, and though might integrate w/ a few years in the cellar won't gain a lot beyond that. Won't rebuy but don't regret giving it a swirl.
