I am gonna pull for the underdog here... knowing full well I am not in the majority.

good luck to you - I thought if Albarino came through it might pull off an upset over Chardonnay - Marsanne maybe doesn't match up as well ...

If Chardonnay were a basketball player, it would be Paul McCartney. Well, if Paul McCartney we're a basketball player too.

I'm not going to explain that one further. If it isn't self-evident, it's not going to be evident with any elucidation I can provide.
But I'm voting for Sir Paul Chardonnay.

I'm with you. But I've been pulling for the 'not Chardonnay' since the first round.

I'm just not a Chard fan, probably too many over oaked, super buttery California Chards before I discovered there was something better out there. Marsanne all the way.

I voted for Chardonnay but that vote simply discounts the overoaked butter bombs and focuses on champagne and lovely unoaked Chards (such as Chehalem INOX), and the diversity of lightly oaked chards. Marsanne has its own problems with its lack of perfume and need for help to make a good wine. Were Hermitage a grape it would be a better contest.
