So far, based on the usual suspects from previous year...

1. Veleta for olive oil, seafood, and some wine.
2. Flannery for whatever Bryan and Katie are offering

My list will likely grow quite a bit.
Anyone else unsealing a brand new credit card, setting up multiple shipping addresses, or creating an alias or three?

I haven’t been able to resist BD offerings for a while now. I am bidding on four auction lots right now so hopefully I won’t win all of them. so I don’t blow my entire January budget.

Planning to buy very little, but we will see how the offers stack up. Liquid Farm at the bare minimum.

Maybe Ridge will offer the Montebello this year.

So many nice wines at a great price.
Always look forward to grabbing some favorites and trying some new finds.

I will be back again this year

I don't think I've ever bought anything during Berserker Day.

Nola owns a winery in Spain and they make olive oil as well. The non-wine part of the business has expanded to include lots of gourmet spanish foods like sardines, tuna, olives and ham. Everything she sells is excellent. Wines are okay.

flannery is a boutique butcher based in SF. They do some amazing stuff if you're a meat eater, puts omaha steaks to shame. we don't eat much beef so I don't purchase but I've had it numerous times and it's very good. has a bit of a cult following.

I will probably pick up some of the Spanish olive oil this year.

The Flannery Beef is great. Just finished our last one this past weekend so I'll be buying some more. The Porterhouse is amazing: filet mignon on one side of the bone and NY Strip on the other. Phenominal!

I might not participate in BerserkerDay this year, for the first time since it started, because our state gov't keeps making it harder and harder to ship anything resembling wine.

Last year's deal on Zalto was a "can't miss". Spanish olive oil sounds really good!

Mexico just anounced that border will remain closed for at least another month ( in reality this will go on for many more months) , so since I cannot travel to the USA and I have to depend on friends to take me by air , I decided not to buy anything else at the moment. It is a nightmare for me to shop from USA right now. Border has been closed for almost a year.

Tercero Rosé is the one purchase I consistently make in January. I sometimes pick up another item or two on Berserker Day, but what that is varies quite a bit. Nothing else last year, but the year before I bought Tercero plus a handful of Grassl stems.

I'm in desperate need of glasses so I may try some of those Grassls. I'm down to my last GGG after an unlucky streak in 2020.

Thinking about Flannery and maybe Veleta.

Kelley Fox participated last year so that could be another buy if they offer any deals on the single vineyard bottlings.

The Newbie Introductions are live for first time participants to introduce themselves. there are quite a few

https://www.wineberserkers.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=87

And the auction will have a ton of large format items this year so if you're into 3L like me then this will be your year.

I have the Liberté and the Cru. Both are really nice, but I'm particularly fond of the Liberté as a universal glass. The Cru would get more play if we opened more wines that would benefit from the large bowl, but those tend to be somewhat rare for us.

Absolutely love the Grassl's—the 1855s are now are go-to glass—and Chris (seller at CFJ Selections) has absolutely outstanding customer service, second to none. Highly recommend. They even offer a reduced replacement cost breakage guarantee that I've had to use, and can tell you it is beyond hassle free.

I re-upped my Wine Berserker Grand Cru membership to get the early look this year and will see what sparks interest.

Last couple of years I've shown restraint and I think just bought JB Neufeld last year. May do the same this year, assuming they are participating again, but I also re-upped our direct club membership there. Seems like we were missing some of the local perks, but I know 2020 events were pretty much a wash for many wineries anyway.

Another Grassl fan - it was an easy decision to go with the Minerailté due to the amount of Riesling and Sauternes we consume.

Cadence: It has been a while since I have had their wines, so take this with a grain of salt (others can chime in more I am sure). These are very well made, balanced bordeaux blends that have generally stayed within a reasonable price point. I have some older ones (around 2000) -- some are a bit tired, but others are excellent. So some can age quite well.

Walter Scott makes some really strong chardonnays (also Pinot I believe). People rave about the X-novo -- some say it was one of the best domestic Chards out there. I have only had it once thanks to a generous wine group member. My memory is that it is nicely balanced with lots of good complexity. Again there are others here who probably know their wines better.

For me, if the offers are a good reduction of normal pricing, or if there are some library wines released, I may be tempted.

EDIT: There is more information on the WB Newbies page that Brig referenced above, on both Cadence and Walter Scott.

Agree. They’re our go to for champagne. Delicate but have never had an issue with them

William Kelley's new winery "Beau Rivage Cellars" is also a newbie this year. Given the love that William gets on the Berserker Forum, would expect that to be a popular. Since he has chosen a Clarksburg Chenin Blanc for his first wine, am quite curious myself given his love for and knowledge of Burgundy.
