Holiday mood but a workday for me. It is also a day of reflection, two area firefighters gave their lives in the line of duty this weekend and two others are in the local burn unit (which is where they send everyone in a 250 mile radius with serious burns). They are in serious but stable condition, an upgrade from their previous critical condition. The local charity I am involved with is providing meals for the families and firefighters visiting the hospital. I am grateful for these brave men and sorry for the losses to their families.

Not in a holiday mood, but I could/would definitely appreciate a nip o'something.

This is just stellar. A clear contender for thread of the year.

If UPS is working, chances are I am too...took Friday off too so can't really complain. Still not rid of the Vegas hangover quite yet either, those damned mixed drinks 'll kill ya if you're not careful.

Back in the office working for a change... S1 and HRH will have to do the partying for all of us! Sorry to hear about the firemen GG... They are damned brave souls that go into harm's way!

For some strange reason i have today off from work.  So without hesitation....

Hanssens Artisanaal Experimental Cassis  (lambic brwed with black currents) with Chorizo sausage and outstanding pan warmed sauerkraut and edamame salad.   It's only a shame i am alone, just waiting for UPS to deliver more wine.

I hear on good authority that this plus another ingredient is good for what ails you... Like snakebite medicine?

I understand it has remarkable track record of preventing snake bites.

Another Monday off from work. For lunch, Italian sausage & Tripel Karmeliet. Does the crowd agree?

I just purchased a bottle of said Tripel after last Saturday's Belgian tasting. Nice pick.

I'd have been more impressed if you said "for breakfast".

I suppose I should have put my '07 Rasa QED over here in the Monday FP thread...now that I think about it, why is there not a First Pour thread for every day of the week?
