Tomorrow is my wife's birthday and we are going to an Italian restaurant. I am considering opening an 04 Tignanello. Any advice on if this is ready yet and how long I should consider decanting prior to taking to the restaurant?
Cheers!

I've only had one Tig and it was a 96 which I drank last year. It was drinking beautifully 14 years later so I would suspect it's still very young now. The notes on CT are promising but I'd wait a while longer to drink this puppy. When you have to decant a young wine for a special dinner, you just never know when it will hit the sweet spot. Your dinner may be over by the time it fully opens.
