I am jealous. I have a nasty cold, so no wine until I can smell something.

This is the only thread here that makes me hate living on the west coast.

It is Saturday and I am still dutifully hacking away at the 2008 Conseillante I poured promptly at 5:30pm Fri. Took delivery 3 days ago. Stupid, but got to have my own private UGC while the Mrs. is in weekend seminar land.

6:35pm Kirin Ichiban beer with sashimi

hey I drank the same exact thing last night, with sushi, and at about the same time too. Are you stalking me, because it appears I'm stalking you too ...

Sadly only one small bottle as the better half is in NYC on business and I'm minding the kidlet. But tonight, my boys and their wives are coming over for the final four. That means eager free babysitting and enough nice wine to make dad happy!

How about your 2007 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard or perhaps the Jordan, both well within drinking window....?

Too late, but good thoughts. I pulled a 2007 Arthur Wilbanks Pinot Noir. I picked it up when I met Bob Mondavi at a local wine store. His in-laws are in Canton, so he comes back once in awhile. I think Arthur Wilbanks is his father-in-law
Decent wine, figured Id go with a Pinot as I'll probably be drinking more than usual today...

Does tasting at a winery count? If so, April 1, 10:05 AM, Eberle Winery Paso Robles, Eberle Viognier (which was quite nice - bought a bottle)

I like the way you think.  We're going to get along just fine once you get moved.

10:23 A.M. - 2010 Severino Riesling - Yakima Valley

Let the Spring Barrel Tasting Begin!

We're doing an absolute marathon weekend which got started last night with a last-minute cooking class/winemakers dinner near our house. Tonight is another dinner/vineyard jaunt/barrel tasting at Two Mountain, Cultura and Severino wineries. Saturday is a winemakers dinner at Steppe Cellars. Sunday more of the same with barrel sampling at some newer places. I might get to my last puppy Sunday night if my palate isn't completely torched.

I stopped into Severino this morning just to see what will be on the menu for tonight and sampled their new Riesling. Best 2010 WA Riesling I've tasted to date out of 4-5 samples.

It's 3:19pm, about 1 hour away from opening up a 2009 Kutch Savoy Vineyard and throwing Salmon on the grill. Gonna snow tonight.
