chicken breasts covered with a sauce of campbell's soup mixed with salt, pepper and oregano, baked, then covered with mozzarella cheese and served atop rotini pasta. here is what i have at my house for you to pick from: Home.

i'm thinking either smig's '09 rose, the '06 ebenezer shiraz, or the '07 juan gil monastrell. the soup sauce isn't all that acidic, although surprisingly flavorful. i didn't drink much wine at all over the weekend and i'm jonesing for something enjoyable.

thanks!

Umm - you must have a huge house. That link tells me you have over 1.5 million bottles at home

Assuming the soup is a tomato-type I'd grab a zingy sangiovese myself - a Chianti would be good, or a Brunello if the seasoning is heavier.

Whether soup is tomato-based or not, the '07 Juan Gil has softened just a tad vs the '08 and would work very well.

I agree with Khamen's advice on something sangiovese-based.

From the three you've listed, I'd go with the Juan Gil. I think the Ebeneezer's big dark berry fruit (we're talking a Ringland wine, right?) won't match well against the tomato-based sauce (might be a different story with gobs of sun-dried tomatoes). Not sure about the Dacalier.

If none of that hits the mark, I'd actually be tempted by a younger Zin.

EDIT: Use the link that is in your signature. That one works.

Link not working - now you have nothing!

If you have got through 1.5 million bottles in an hour you have a serious habit

I'll agree (of course) that sangiovese tends to go nicely with tomato-based sauces...but any wine that's savory and not overly jammy should do. I had my last bottle of the Juan Gil quite a while ago, but that could work well. Rose can be surprisingly versatile too.

i went with the juan gil, though i accidentally opened an '08 instead of the '07 i intended to open (honestly didn't even know i had both vintages at home!). definitely on the meaty/gamy side of mourvedre, but it was oh-so-good! and i liked it with the chicken dish, but then again i'm not a believer in pairing as an art form. imho, 99% it's just as successful to eat what you like and drink what you like and it'll all work out.  i really just wanted y'all to tell me what to drink!!
