Some minor work to bring the Availability index up to snuff:

Cleanup of Availability Index
OK, make this a first rate view with proper handling of non-vintage wines, wine colored icons, hyperlinks to the wine drilldown, clickable column headers to sort, and support for the quick search filter with "Drinkability" as a new search scope.

Eric,

Very nice. Very useful. One possible enhancement is to support numeric filters in the Quick Availability search, e.g.: >=1.5 would limit the list to those wines with a drinkability score (is this what we should call it, or availability?) greater or equal to 1.5. I am going to try to find some time for distribution and skew formulas.

It would be nice to get some feedback from other users. Is anyone else playing with this?

I thought that for a short name "Drinkability" made more sense than "Availability". I will look at adding filtering. I still also need to add support for filtering from the advanced query page. That may be where I add the thresholding support.

Please note that at the top of the page I also added a link to the original release note with your explanation.

I see a few folks (Patrick) adding a number of personal drinking windows, so that may well be to take advantage of this report.

Tonight I updated the stored procedure which handles "merging" of wines. It now is very thorough about matching up and porting over all reviews, drinking windows, valuations, and private notes.

Merging happens when someone edits a wine definition so that it exactly equals another wine definition. I actually do this all the time when I find two equivalent wines with subtly different values that are clearly accidental. Now this is much more thorough and respectful of all the new private data and per-user reviews.
