this morning, Liga L40. This afternoon, Davidoff Zino, and now, before dinner, and with a double Zacapa 23, a Davidoff Colorado Claro (sitting outdoors on a nice December night here in Las Vegas). love this lounge/place.

Windy weather here has messed up cigar smoking most of the cool season. However I really enjoy a good bowl of pipe tobacco these days in Winger as I can fill the bowl for a shorter smoke and protect it from wind.

I enjoy Charatan, Dunhill and a few other classic English styled piles as well as a few Italian ones as well. Plus pipe smoke coming from me smoking inside standing by the back door cracked open doesn’t get Mrs.CiH as workeded up. Cigars are for outside or lounges.

I do look forward to meeting a few buddies for sticks as we watch Champions League or EPL football.

Does anybody else on the forum ever on occasion smoke a tobacco like. I have a small collection of Charatan’s Make pipes as well as a few other pipes from the Bristjsh aisle and Ireland as well as a couple French and Italian piles. I like both aromatics fir Winger as well as Virginia/Perique blends plus English and Balkan oriental blends.

Everyday can’t be Montecristo, Upmann and Cohiba, but with piping mostly during the cold blustery Winters the days that I do get the opportunity to enjoy good sticks in the warmer weather.

It would be nice to find out if anybody else likes to puff on a chunk of briar!

I might have found that desert island cigar. A couple cases of rum and a crate of Cohiba Exquisitos and of course a pack of 10 lighters or so.

I would be just fine for a bit. It’s said that these are 33rg but I think the feel bigger. I never thought I would enjoy something so thin. Great sticks.

Last night, with JRock, an Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro Robusto at an Oliva Tasting Event in Seattle. What a tasty stick ! A bit expensive but well worth the price as I don't smoke as much anymore. I bought a box of their Torpedos to lay down in my humidor for later this year. Cheers, Ed

Ramon Beuso Genesis The Project Maduro Torpedo last weekend after an excellent scallop risotto dinner. Poured an old Armagnac to compliment the smoke. Perfect burn, lots of chocolate and leather flavors. Well done ! Cheers, Ed

Don't know him, but I do remember a Dilip Patel from high school. He was vintage 1966. Is Rocky Patel India's Heavyweight Champion?

Weather has turned very nice here in Seattle, so... Last night after a nice pork tenderloin on the grill and a bottle of the 2012 CT Upland Syrah, a Davidoff The Late Hour Robusto. First cigar outside this year. Nice smoke, easy draw. Went perfectly with a little Bas Armagnac for dessert. Cheers, Ed

Montecristo from Cuba.

I could tell you where I got it from, but I'd have to kill you.

Heh, heh!

Try me…

Gentlemen, I'm after advice.

I occasionally enjoy a cigar, currently of the mild to medium type. I've enjoyed the Montecristo Open Master, Hoyo de Monterrey No. 2 and a couple of others from other people's humidors. What else would you recommend to a cigar beginner? I know there's lots of other websites for this but a personal view is always different. Thanks!

You can't go wrong with the Ashton, which is mild/medium. I like the Magnum, but if you prefer a thinner cigar, the Corona is great.

The Avo #2 was my starter cigar. They changed up their blend a few years back, but it is still a great cigar. Mild.

I tried the Avo #2 yesterday actually. Lovely and creamy. I have to say I preferred the Hoyo de Monterrey #2 though it was a bit spicier. I'll look out for those Ashtons, thanks!

Cuban Partagas Corona Senior - I love these cigars!

I'm beginning to run low on these and really need to get my "international duty free shopping" on!

Forgot to mention the Rocky Patel 1999, Connecticut shade.

Not too heavy. Great construction & good draw.
