Long time fan, first time caller...

Happy user of CellarTracker but one thing still has me managing my own "thing" on the side. The ability to report on "Wine Recommender". Critical for me as I want to know who's palates I am aligned with. I also use Importers much the same. What I think CellarTracker could enable is custom tags (like many blogs use today) for wines that could be used in reporting. Then I could finally retire my old, tired Microsoft Access database...

One other thought for improving the community experience. Have a ton of photos I upload directly to Instagram, Flickr, etc. from my mobile phone. I'd be happy to share these on CellarTracker as well but the mental cost of downloading, saving then uploading is a lot to overcome. Any chance we could provide a URL which would then import the image?

Have you tried just using the per-wine private note to track your recommender?

Also, you can just upload your photos to CellarTracker from your mobile phone too. Sorry, we don;t support URL fetch of images at this point. Just standard HTML image submit.

Thanks for the replies Eric! re: photos, hadn't thought of that and will keep in mind.

On private note, I hadn't but tried quickly now. I can see the potential to do a one off check (say those where I set the private note to Jon Bonne) but not to look across all recommenders in one view. Anything I am missing from a report perspective?

You can use the private note as a keyword search for the main my cellar view. Or you can use the dedicated view to see all of the private notes.

I am not sure it is ideal for your situation but used the right way could provide a valid workaround.
