Haven't tasted, but woke up to two e-mails on it. Also curious.

Friends, Clients, Mega trackers, Acquaintances, and Lurkers.

Its been almost 18 months since I brought something new to the CT group, so I hope the wait has been worth it. I want to introduce Vin des Temps, 2011 Noble Red Blend of 39% Cabernet Sauvignon. 34% Merlot. 27% Malbec...100% Wine Of The Times

The Story
Vin des Temps is a hommage to the great wine regions of France, creating traditional varietal bottlings expressive of their old world heritage. Two emerging négociants partner in a conspiracy with coastal California winegrowers to emulate the respective styles from Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Rhone.

The Wine
This claret-styled Cabernet blend is sourced from vineyards situated 1,000 feet up in the Santa Lucia range, near Monterey. The calcareous shale-loam soil lends an enhanced mineral complexity while providing both drainage and aeration.

During harvest, micro-blocks were picked alternately to maintain the consistent phenolic ripeness ideally suited for these noble varietals.

The Winemaking
APPELLATION 100% Monterey County
PRODUCTION 306 cases from 1,000 foot elevation vineyards
SOILS rocky, high-drainage calcareous, shale-loam
VARIETAL 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 27% Malbec
CRUSH combination of de‐stemmed and whole cluster press
FERMENT native yeasts; barrel fermented
AGING aged 10 months in neutral French oak
OLFACTORY attractive blackberry and fresh plum fruit, lively black cherries with a hint of fresh herbs
PALATE well balanced with gentle, well integrated tannins, nice acidity and a long, full finish of cedar box, black cherry and a touch of mint

Bottle shot & Label shots below

It's available on our website at www.dacalier.com/vindestemps

Fellow CT'rs, We just added a friends and family case deal to the website for our new Vin Des Temps. We are offering 9 bottles of 2011 Vin Des temps and 3 bottles of 2009 De La Terre for $225.00

If CTers want to mix up the case differently, say 9 De La terre and 3 Vin Des Temps or something in between, just enter a note when you check out.

Thanks for the support for those that have already purchased

Cheers,
-dave
