Interesting list here for planning a trip. I'm going to look at a few of these in October.

Surprised that Anderson's Conn Valley is not on that list, the winery is as about "off the beaten path" as you can get (geography wise)

I guess she had to limit it to just 10?
Because - woo - Constant, Barnett, and Behrens and Hitchcock are all treks.
Constant was nerve-racking and we weren't driving!

I seldom get very excited by these kinds of lists. They all to often represent a relatively shallow understanding of an area or have undocumented biases (such as financial interest, freinds, etc.). Not saying they can't be useful but...the criteria and basis for inclusion is rarely transparent.

I've been told that Behrens is now in St Helena.

I'm pretty sure that is temporary while they do some major renovation on the road and facility.

+1!
This list woefully anemic and obviously biased.

I agree drycab...The selections seem weak and not necessarily "off the beaten path". Which is why I am skeptical of the list and the biases of the author.

Recently lucked onto a tiny (1500 case a year) winery in Oregon that was seven miles of gravel to get to. Now that is "off the beaten path. And obscure...

Oh, Yeah! You nailed it. Info to be stored in a sealed wine bottle in a secure vault until after the unveiling on the 25th of April at the Blind Tasting! After that I will share the info! But for now, mum is the word!
