Loring is offering an appellation wine for $29 on futures right now. Tempting as I might not buy as many single vineyards this fall.

Bought Costa de Oro Santa Barbara County Pinot for $17.  Had it last night with Pork roast and it was very nice.

good choice apes! I visited this estate a couple of years ago and bought some 2004s,red and White.

Anne, I am interested in your recommendations. Would love to get into Oregon Pinot. If only more were available in England!

2007 Joseph Swan Vineyards Pinot Noir Cuvée de Trois
2006 Cambria Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard
2006 Cardwell Hill Pinot Noir Estate Bottled
2007 Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir Hemel-En-Aarde (might be a little over $30)
2007 Innocent Bystander Pinot Noir (if you can find it)
2008 Vampire Vineyards Pinot Noir (Just kidding...actually wasn't too bad for a $1 post-Halloween annual gimmick wine from the discount cart.)

I agree with the Innocent Bystander call. I have some of the Cambria Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard on the way.

Under $15, I like the 07 Wyatt PN, I've heard Cameron Hughes Lot 110 is pretty good.

I like the Rhys & the Loring Appellation suggestions also for under $30 on both ends of the PN spectrum.

Just sampled some '08 Oregon Pinots.  The best by far for under $30 were from Ayers.

http://www.ayresvineyard.com/buywine.htm

Price points $24 - Willamette Valley, $28- Lewis Rogers Lane, $32- Pioneer.

Buy a 6-pack case gets 10% but that may just be in the tasting room.   I have no idea if they ship overseas or what the rates may be.

I've spoken before just how much I like the Ayers line.

Have ordered from them in the past, but a couple places here in Kansas City now carry them (and no shipping fee!).

One doesn't see their Pioneer in shops too much, so likely would need to order that.
